Delivery Times

Orders will be dispatched to reach you within 5 - 7 days. If the item is not available for immediate dispatch you will be notified of an expected delivery date. In the event that no one is available to receive the goods, they will be returned to our carrier’s depot and you will be contacted to arrange a convenient time to re-deliver. Deliveries are usually made on working days between 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday and will be delivered to the address shown on your order unless otherwise specified. The customer is under a duty to inspect the goods on delivery and provide a signature.

Postage and Packaging

Cost of postage and packing is worked out automatically by weight when you add an item to your basket. We currently ship products to the United Kingdom and EU countries. We accept payments in GB pounds.
Free UK mainland shipping for orders of £50 and over. (Excludes postcodes in outlying areas).
  • United Kingdom (outlying areas): Our couriers treat any areas which are not on mainland England, Wales or Scotland as 'outlying'. This includes all islands, Northern Ireland and certain remote areas of the Scottish Highlands. If you live in one of these areas, please choose this shipping option. Postcodes affected are listed above.

    Shipping to Malta is temporarily suspended whilst we find a cost effective courier for this destination - please contact us for deliveries to Malta.

    If you are not delighted with your purchase you have the right to cancel within 14 days of your purchase, or 14 days from the receipt of the goods (whichever is longer). If you cancel your order you will have your payment returned, provided you return your goods to us at the address shown on the contact us page at your expense. All items must be returned in original packaging in saleable condition and via a traceable / signed for service and must include all parts. We cannot be held responsible for items returned to us that are not received by us. We will not accept returns without prior notification and acknowledgement. If your delivery is returned to us by the courier as a failed delivery due to matters under your control (For example you have not been at the delivery address to accept delivery or have not provided alternative delivery instructions in advance) then your payment will be refunded and return transportation costs may be deducted from your refund. We will not refund any postage costs paid by you as a result of failed delivery due to matters under your control. Return costs to be paid by you.

    Goods supplied will be replaced or repaired free of charge or, at our absolute discretion, the purchase price refunded if notice of the defect is given to us within 24 hours of delivery of the goods. If when the goods are returned to our depot, we are satisfied that they were defective in materials or workmanship on delivery a refund of costs will be made within 30 days. Claims for damages and or shortages made after 24 hours of your delivery arriving will be refused – the time and date of delivery is recorded with our carriers. Goods must be returned to Discount Lighting Store at the buyer’s expense within 14 working days from return notification. Discount Lighting Store reserves the right to refuse a refund if the goods have been used and/or the goods are returned without the original packaging, and/or there are missing parts. Unless otherwise stated bulbs/lamps are not covered by warranty and will not be replaced free of charge regardless of whether the bulbs where purchased and/or supplied as part of a light fitting. We advise customers that standard light switches, poor quality dimmer switches, power surges and spikes in the electricity supply are the most likely causes of early bulb/lamp failures. Should a bulb/lamp be dead on arrival we may replace at our discretion providing we receive written notification within 48 hours of delivery

    If the customer wishes to claim that there is any shortage on delivery in respect of goods supplied by us, that the same have been damaged in transit or that any goods supplied by us are defective or not in accordance with the contract, they shall give notice to us in writing or by email and (in the case of any shortage or damage in transit) to any carrier by whom the goods were delivered within a day after the date of delivery of the same. If the customer fails to give such notice or fails to give us the opportunity to inspect the entire consignment, the goods shall be deemed to have been delivered and to be in accordance with the contract in all respects.

    Please note, we will not assume responsibility for corrosion or any other resulting damage to the Goods where they are installed in areas in which fertilizers or salt are present, either in the air or in the soil, or where the Goods are installed near to chemical plants, etc. with emissions of heavily polluted air.
